The frosty weather is on the way, and it’s that time of year we generally spend more time indoors. And why wouldn’t you? From snuggling up in bed watching a new Netflix series to lounging with a book or hot drink in hand… it’s a great way to keep warm and relax.

With that said, before we head into winter it’s the perfect time to get the Norwex Microfibre out and make a day for a cleaning overhaul. This will not only make you feel refreshed but will help to maintain the health and wellbeing of your family all winter long.

  1. Zap the Dust

Have you suddenly noticed a pile of dust bunnies creeping up on your fans or up around on hard-to-reach surfaces? House mites can trigger many dermatological reactions and that’s why this should be the first item on your list to tackle in the home. An easy way to reduce dust levels and to stop them from resettling is with Norwex Microfibre, particularly with the Dusting Mitt. The Dusting Mitt is ideal for quick, harmful chemical free dusting throughout your home. The Dusting Mitt attracts dust like a magnet, allow you to glide it over a surface and to quickly pick it up.

In particularly hard to reach areas, the EnviroWand with Two Sided Sleeve works a treat. The flexible and bendable design makes cleaning much easier and for extended length, you can attach the Telescopic Mop Handle to the end.

  1. Reducing Floor and Dirt Grime

One easy way that dirt and grime build up in the home is when the littlies unknowingly run throughout the home with their shoes on. This can be even more of an issue for homes that have carpeted floors.

When dirt settles on carpet, it can soil and wear down the fibres, which we’re sure you would want to try and avoid as much as possible. The easiest way to reduce dirt and grime in your carpet is with the Norwex Carpet Stain Remover. The product is enzyme-based which dissolves and eliminates the toughest of stains whilst neutralising odours. While it is safe for use on most carpets, we always recommend testing a small hidden area for colourfastness before spraying across all carpet areas. Let the dirt be gone!

  1. Wash and Disinfect Bins

Being inside more often also means you’re probably be more aware of smells in and around your home. One of the smelliest areas that should be cleaned regularly and moreso in winter is the bin. Often pieces of food waste can end up at the bottom of the bin or in and around it, causing bacteria build up and no-doubt attracting rodents into your home.

One of the quickest ways to clean is starting with water and a Norwex Kitchen Towel, ensuring the products are cleaned and cared for under instructions. Then using the Norwex Odour Eliminator which is an enzyme, probiotic based deodorant. The Odour Eliminator helps to remove organic odours and leaves a fresh, clean scent. The Odour Eliminator can be sprayed in the air, around or on the source of the odour, working instantly to break it down.

  1. Deep Clean the Oven

In winter, we find ourselves opting for warm comfort foods like delicious baked or oven roasted dishes. So that means, a little more attention is needed during this time to knock over those baked on stains that can be really difficult to clean.

As you know it is our mission to create safer havens and by reducing chemicals in the home, we are creating healthier environments for our family. One of the most common reasons we have heard over the years for not wanting to clean the oven, is the amount of chemicals needed to clean it properly. Now you can clean with ease and reduce the chemicals you’re using with the Norwex Oven and Grill Cleaner. We recommend preheating the oven to 38°C, then turning off and applying the cleaner. Close oven and allow the cleaner to work for five minutes. Then wipe clean with a damp EnviroCloth™. After cleaning, heat oven to 95°C for 10 minutes before cooking food. Get ready to see your oven looking like new!

  1. Refresh your Mattress

We can safely say that sleep-ins are very tempting in the cooler months. Spending much more time in bed, means there more organic materials that you’re sleeping with too (we know right, it’s a little gross to think about). Little do many people know, the bedroom is one of the dirtiest, germ ridden places in the home.

A question we quite often receive is how do you clean a mattress or any fabric furniture for that matter, seeing as it can’t be thrown in the washing machine? The easiest answer is with the Norwex Mattress Cleaner of coarse! The unique formula is designed to remove organic material and provide deep cleaning for body oils, organic waste, odours and other contaminants.

We hope this helps to kickstart your winter cleaning and if you have any questions about using Norwex products, contact our Consultant Care team or head over to the website.
